In Another Life

I can still feel that familiar feeling,

A moment that found me paralyzed.

A story untold – I read your soul,

The first time I looked in your eyes.

In another time and another place,

I just knew I had been there before.

By the Powers that be – I could see,

I once loved you so much more.

The moment seemed overwhelming,

My heart started beating fast.

How could it be – that I could see,

A life I loved in the past.

The more I began to know you,

The more certain I had become,

That you and I – in another time,

Found ourselves as one.

This life would prove to be different,

I’m afraid I found you a moment too late.

The feelings remain – though the gender is the same,

Could this have been of our fate?

Maybe we will meet again in another life,

For that I’ll pray with my last breath.

Just so you know – I didn’t let go,

I loved you beyond my death.

If you should leave before me,

I guess that could happen I suppose.

The memories I’ll save – as I place on your grave,

The Beauty of a single rose.
