My Wish for You

If God could grant me just one wish,

I know exactly what it would be.

If for only a day – I’d give away,

These eyes so that you could see.

Then when you stood before the mirror,

You might appreciate the view.

It would be – all that I see,

Every time I look at you.

The amazing woman you have become,

Though life can sometimes take its toll.

With the cross you bear – you still care,

Because it comes from within your soul.

You would see how you light up a room,

With just your smile and unique flare.

The priceless art – that makes up your heart,

Is beauty beyond compare.

There would be no insecurities,

For those are things I just don’t view.

It just might be – that all I can see,

Comes from what lies within you.

So if my eyes begin to water,

Know it’s because I thank God above.

For all I see – you chose me,

To Bless with the gift of your love.

So if I could be granted just one wish,

My friend It would come as no surprise.

I’d give the view – I hold of you,

I would give my own eyes.
